Make Life Lovely: positive thinking

Today I want to share a few ideas for making your life lovely. A copy of this hangs in my downstairs washroom – well, “sometimes you just sit and think and sometimes you just sit” – so it’s good to read things that get you thinking or act as reminders.

Do you have things you do, or try to do, that improve your days? Maybe you’ve read some wise words? Or seen ideas that deserve a second read? Please share here and help spread the ways to make life lovely.

Being creative is the mainstay of my life, and poetry, prose, and photography is where I express my deepest emotions. I also enjoy the challenge of design and create jewellery, fabric bags, and garments and home items in yarn. Diagnosed with ASD at the age of 68 after fifty years in and out of the mental health system, I now aim to explore and share my experiences over these years. Apart from blogs and short articles I'll share my life in my verse and images.

  1. This is great, Marilyn! I need reminders and prompts, that’s probably why I really like bullet list ideas of self care things or inspirational quotes to get me thinking. I’ll have to do something like this with ‘make life lovely’ ideas. I think the words ‘indulge’ and ’embrace’ are perfect for this. xx

    • Hello hello, I like the simplicity of this one. As I said in a previous post about aphorisms generally I find some (unintentionally) just make you feel guilty. That’s also why I don’t like Louisa Hay – we’re all ill because of the baggage we refuse to let go. Really? I’m glad you like the idea of embracing and indulging too. Nothing heavy – just like good self-care. If you’d like my Word document to start you off I could email it to you.
Hope you’re feeling better day by day.
