My photographic style
Despite having taken my first photograph sixty-two years ago, viewing the upside-down image of my parents on the family Kodak ‘box’ Brownie, I have never really got to grips with the technical aspects of photography. Given a choice of lens, I’m more telephoto than wide-angle, preferring detail to panorama. So while I haven’t attempted true macro photography, I do enjoy getting up close and personal with my subject and with a thank you to Dr B here are my contributions for his #Challenge your Camera for this week.

More close-up that macro I know, but I hope you’ve enjoyed my offering. For more takes head over to Dr B at http://buddhawalksintoawinebar.blog/2021/03/08/challenge-your-camera-5-close-up/ and check out #Challenge your Camera.
Last week’s mysteries?
- inside view of a hand blender, showing the spindle that fits into the motor unit
- a black and white collapsible colander
- popcorn maker plastic lid with measuring scoop
- green handled herb scissors
Stay well. Keep looking – with all your senses.

They are all seriously good Marilyn. ๐๐ I think you โdo yourself downโ in what you say, sure you have a preference for telephoto, but your close ups are really good and some of them would surely qualify as macro too. The thing is you are willing to try things out. I too am not good on the technicalities of a camera, I have no idea of adjusting aperture, white balance etc etc, but I know how to use automatics and iPhones to get what I want. Looks like you do too! ๐๐๐
Thank you Dr B. Your challenges give me a ‘start the week’ focus (sorry about the pun) and I really look forward to each Monday despite what the world’s not-so-worthies throw at us.
What an excellent selection of shots! You clearly have a good eye for what details will look good in close-up ๐ I love your rusty old things and patterns in particular, as well as that super fluffy bee!
Thank you. I’m glad you like the old stuff. I prefer to check out old buildings/industrial sites/machinery than pristine beaches and scrubbed-up temples of reflected bling.
Hope to catch you next week. M.
Thank you Sarah. So glad I was led to Dr B by Marie (Hopping Skipping and Jumping on her travels.)
