It may seem perverse, but one of the best things about canal holidays is the ability to moor up, step off the narrowboat, and explore. There are market towns and villages for picking up essential supplies and local delicacies, water-based leisure activities, towpath cycling, and heritage sites to visit.

Nature is beautiful. Let’s keep it that way.
Time is fleeting. Let’s make the most of it.
Enjoy all that you are able, as often as you are able.

Not perverse at all, I think that would be one of my favourite parts if I ever did canal cruising to pull up and explore the local area. You’ve got some great photos and the greenery looks gorgeous. I loved the man takes boat for walk caption 😂

Thanks Caz. I think you would love it. For those of us with the ‘invisibles’, once on board and with loved ones to do the lock work, it can be perfect.

Your photos seem really to capture the spirit of a canal boat holiday. I say ‘seem’ because I’ve never taken one – I always wonder if they would be a bit too slow-paced for us?
