Christmas diary: Day 6

30th December

After Rob’s out-of-blue proposal began to think maybe my coping with birds was a strength-of-character test.
Wrong. We’re back to fowl.

Today’s Man-in-a-Van delivered six geese – all ready to lay. Initially perturbed – then flash of inspiration. Recalled geese make brilliant house guards. I’m sick of chasing local louts off my property. And they fit into the garden OK. Geese, not the louts.

Luckily today’s not a holiday. Contacted local firm about making large pen for them. Geese, not louts – but would that be so wrong? Illegal maybe. But not ‘wrong’. Understood urgency – coming round later.

Intrigued about tomorrow.
